About me
I am Rosa Manuel, born in 1993 and raised in Coevorden. I currently live and work in Groningen. From a young age, I have been a self-taught artist, continually teaching myself new techniques.

However, my artistic journey began with portraits of people. It remains special to capture someone's character through brushstrokes. The process of portraying that unique essence with paint or pencil is still a fascinating and personal experience for me.

I primarily work with acrylic and oil paints and also create pencil drawings. My goal is always to capture not just the outward resemblance, but also the character and soul of my subject. Light and movement play a crucial role in this. In portraits, I carefully translate the light from photos onto the canvas to create a vivid and realistic image.

I also create personalized pet portraits and abstract art. Capturing the expressive looks of animals, especially their soulful eyes, is one of my greatest passions. Additionally, I enjoy working with abstract art, where I allow the paint to move freely and guide the process to achieve a unique, spontaneous result.
